I watched the last episode days ago *feels like eons*, and I have been sitting here gathering my thoughts. What have I come to the conclusion of this drama with? Simple.. sorta.... please bear with me.. LoL
When I first started watching this I was thinking, HYD was better...is better.. will always be the best, but looking back I love them both. However.. I feel in BOF the stories may have dragged here and there, and we didn't get as much JP / JD time as we did with Makino and Domyoji, but they were still a fierce couple. I loved how JP always wanted to do more, and it's easy for us to sit back and yell at him for not going after her, or not doing this. Yet at the same time it's not like we were in his 'shoes'. Yes JH became a rock for JD but that was to be expected. Yes it was heart breaking watching him just pine for her. However look at his character he wasn't someone who just opened up to others easily. JD gave him a reason to want to do things and not just be the quiet one in the background. He wanted to see her happy and smile, even if it wasn't him that did it. No matter how much he wanted to take her from JP he knew that they belonged together. Very endearing.
I loved how Soeul was so cute together, they were closer in this adaptation by far, and I loved how the F4 always included Ga Eul with them she became more of a character and not just some side character. She was able to show the determination and she woke Yi Jung's heart back up. More and more throughout the series you saw the ice around his heart melt away. Wow I want to see more of them two. It might seem pointless to some because they didn't really give closure to their arc, but looking back.. he did go back and he was happy to see her. It's that whole you might not see them together, but you know in your heart....
Yi Jung as a whole character I loved him. He who seemed to not care to terribly much was one of the first to want to beat JP for hurting JD in Maccau. I loved it. He was so pissed and he was willing to stand up to his lifelong friend over this girl who lost so much for him. That is a true friend, one who is willing to fight with you to make you wake up.
Woo Bin, he was still cut short in this like in the Jdrama, but however his presence was known and felt. The tender moments when he would give JD or JP hope it was sweet, he had his own issues that he expressed with feeling ashamed about who he was. However his friends and JD gave him a purpose to fight that and be a stand up person. He is an essential character and no matter how short his scenes were he made sure you saw him and knew he was there.
JiHoo.. Again like I stated he became a more important character because he became the pillar to JanDi that she needed. She was going through so much just to be with JunPyo and even when pushed to her limits she had someone who still supported her. I loved how she finally started showing her strong side when she told JH that the more he wiped her tears the more they would fall... She wanted to reach to him but she knew she had to do it on her own. Then in the end JH was determined to not let her run. He made her stand up and fight for her relationship with JP. He was the best friend who gave up everything because he knew she belonged not with him, but his best friend. The scene where JP confessed to him that he couldn't let her go no matter what was heartbreaking, and you could see it after JP risked his life to save JH. JH struggled with his feelings but in the end he knew that he had to give her up no matter what.
*sighs* So much angst, but so refreshing. Yes the writers could've done so much more. They had all the elements there to make it the best overall, however they really steered off course there for a while making some arcs run to long. In the end the one part I think I loved the most was the pool scene. So new and wow.. Finally the part I had waited for all season.. JanDi having complete faith in JunPyo and her love. She took the iconic leap of faith by falling into that pool. She put it all on the line. Her one last ditch attempt. Do or die. And JunPyo didn't let us down. Thank you JP.
The F4 and JanDi... She gave them all a purpose.. They were little rich boys who had it all, but when they met her she gave them a reason to want to be better people, she gave them something to protect.. something to love and cherish.. They were her princes, She was their princess. Makino and JanDi were very lucky bishes.. LOL I just wish the F4 in HYD were as close to Makino as they were in BOF to JanDi... I mean the episode with the house warming gift.. how adorable.. I had no idea those guys would even know how to redo a house.. You know secretly GaEul was the boss in charge telling them what to do. LoL And the truth game.. I want to play that with them.. Very cute scenes like that made BOF such an epic piece of work. Even in the darkest times they stood by JD and JP.
All in all I loved this show, it brought me up, and dragged me down... it made me cry, laugh and go wtf... but I loved it. They kept me coming back for more. I had to know, needed to know.... HYD, and BOF will forever live in my heart as my fave dramas of all time...
I wanted to share my thoughts with you guys all here, and sometimes they are all over the place, but I got it out for the most part.
Feel free to post your thoughts, cause hey I'm not saying I'm right or wrong, just the thoughts of a upset and now sad little fangirl who won't know what to do with herself on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Yet if they really want to make us happy..... give us a special with a wedding. :D
And on a sidenote... my icon explaings all... The F4 have spoiled us... who wouldn't want them as best friends or boyfriends. xD
